Begin your Georgian adventure in the heart of Tbilisi’s old town. Your walking tour includes:

After breakfast, set out for Mtskheta, the spiritual heart of Georgia and one of its oldest settlements. Highlights include:

• The hilltop Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO-listed site overlooking the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers.

• The majestic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, said to be the burial site of Christ’s robe.

Continue your drive to the Ananuri Fortress Complex, perched above the turquoise waters of the Jinvali Reservoir. The ensemble of towers and churches dates back to the 16th–17th centuries.

Follow the winding Georgian Military Highway through dramatic mountain scenery, reaching its highest point at 2,394 meters before descending into Kazbegi (Stepantsminda).

Weather permitting, take a 4WD drive up to the Gergeti Trinity Church (2,170 m), set against the backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kazbek (5,033 m)—one of the highest peaks in the Caucasus.

After breakfast, head south to the city of Gori, birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Visit the Stalin Museum, which houses personal artifacts, photos, and the leader’s private train carriage.

Next, explore the ancient rock-hewn town of Uplistsikhe, once a major religious and trade center on the Silk Road. Wander through tunnels, ancient dwellings, and churches carved into the cliffs, blending pagan and early Christian elements.

By evening, return to Tbilisi.
