From the Metekhi church through the brick dome of the sulfur baths, to the ancient fortress in a beautiful location overlooking the Mzkvari valley. Narikala Fortress is now a major tourist attraction in Tbilisi. Narikala Fortress attracts attention from all sides of Tbilisi and can be seen from almost anywhere in Tbilisi. In Georgian sources it is called "Mother Fortress". Narikala has some of the best views in town. This is an ancient symbol of Tbilisi's defensive brilliance. You can ride the cable car. Stroll through Baitan Square, a bustling market during the Great Silk Road era. Rue Jean Chardin – Named after a famous French traveler, this street is now packed with bars and restaurants and is a popular meeting point for locals and tourists alike. Then visit the Synagogue, Sioni Church and Antiscati which marks the end of the old town. Visit the Treasury of the National Museum of Georgia (8th Millennium BC Georgian Archeology), then Trinity Church, the third largest church in the world. End of tour. leisure time. After breakfast at the hotel, visit the ancient city of Mtskheta and visit its historical sites: the Jvari Monastery (6th century) and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century).” Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Continue north along the famous Georgian Military Road to the North Caucasus. Your first stop is the Ananuri complex, the former residence of the Dukes of Argveti. The complex has his 16th to his 17th century churches and towers and offers beautiful views of the Jinvali Reservoir. The buildings belonging to this complex are the upper and lower fortifications, the fence, the tower, the Church of Our Lady, the Church of God, the 'Mukurnali' church, the bell tower, the octagonal cell and the reservoir. Keep walking until you see the confluence of two small rivers in the mountains. Rivers vary in color, but are known to retain their color after confluence. lunch break. Continue your wonderful tour to visit the Gudauri Friendship Monument, also known as Gudauri Panorama. Located 120 kilometers on the Georgian Military Road from Tbilisi to Russia. This monument is very vibrant and colorful, but its beauty lies mainly in its location. The Georgian-Russian Friendship Monument perches on a 600-meter-high cliff, with round balconies offering stunning views of the Caucasus. The final destination and main tourist attraction of the tour is Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) and the impressive Mount Kazbegi, where the Gergeti Trinity Church was built at an altitude of 2170 m. From Kazbegi, travel by 4x4 through beautiful valleys and forests to the Gergeti Trinity Church. If the weather is clear, you can see Mount Kazbegi, one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus, at 5,047 meters above sea level. Enjoy breathtaking views, take pictures, breathe fresh air and collect a lot of emotions. Return to Tbilisi by car.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the resort town of Borjomi. Borjomi is famous for its mineral water industry (Georgia's main export). You can taste mineral water in Borjomi Park. Then we will drive to Akhaltsikhe and visit the Rabat Fortress. Rabati Castle is a medieval structure in Akhaltsikhe, whose history dates back to the 13th century. There are restaurants, souvenir shops, wine shops and more. Arrive in Varzia in the evening. Evening: Hotel in Vardzia or Akhaltsikhe
In the morning, we will start exploring one of the highlights of our trip, the cave town of Vardzia (12th century), once home to about 3,000 caves and 50,000 people. Complex carved rock formations are part of the landscape. The petroglyphs preserved in the Vardzia-Hertvisi Valley cover a very wide range of dates, from the 8th to the 9th century. 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This allows us to trace this type of development from simple caves to large multi-storey complexes. The valley preserves unique examples of large and small monastery complexes with living rock-hewn villages, masterpieces of medieval wall paintings and monuments with important historical records. You can also visit Vanis Kvabebi, a 7th-century monastery. The monastery complex offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. (The road is steep - walk 2 kilometers, we can visit this wonderful monastery only on your request). Arrive in Tbilisi. Evening: Hotel in Tbilisi.
