"Welcome to Turkey! Your adventure begins in Istanbul - the sprawling metropolis across the continent that the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans all call home. A welcome meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. where you'll meet your team leader and companions. Then, perhaps get out and explore the bustling streets of your new city of gastronomy. a coffee shop?at the edge of the road.
"After breakfast this morning, set off for Canakkale - a port town on the south coast of the Dardanelles. You'll stop along the way to explore Gallipoli on a guided tour that will teach you about important events and history associated with the area. Your guide will take you to ANZAC Cove and major memorial sites like ANZAC and the Brighton Peninsula. poli Tonight we will spend the night in Canakkale with free time to dine and prepare for tomorrow's adventure.
“This morning we will go to Selcuk and stop at Troy - where history and mythology intertwine - along the way. You'll walk around the old city walls with your leader and even have the chance to take a photo with a replica of the Horse of Troy. Find out how this site has confused historians and archaeologists before continuing on to the town of E near the ruins of Selcuk here, on the slopes of the Ayasol Hill uk there are a number of historic buildings - you'll find the Isa Bey Mosque, a fine example of 14th-century Seljuk Turkish architecture, and the imposing Byzantine citadel of the Grand Fort. Below the fort are the ruins of St. Church of St. John was built by Justinian I in the 6th century. A short distance from Selcuk is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - the Temple of the Goddess - although sadly only one remains (of the original 127). It was destroyed in 401 AD, after being ravaged by successive floods, a Greek arsonist looking for fame and the Goths. You'll arrive in Selcuk with plenty of time to check in at the guesthouse, then join a chef-led orientation walk through town.

Once the capital of the Roman capital of Asia Minor, this city has a vivid and fascinating history brought to life by a local guide to enrich your experience. Considering its age, the ruins are in incredible condition, imagine it in all its glory over 2000 years ago, complete with running water, public toilets, medical facilities, panheru and Roman baths. The theater is well preserved and hosts regular concerts, but perhaps the most impressive is the magnificent library, then stop for lunch at a family-run restaurant and enjoy a gozlem cooked fresh in front of you. This afternoon, drive to the nearby quaint village of Sirince to taste some of the local fruit wines. This authentic Greek and Ottoman village seems neglected by modern development and its unique local architecture perched in the hills is a photographer's dream.
“A train ride inland through a mountainous landscape will bring you to Pamukkale, one of the most photographed spots in Turkey. Pamukkale literally means ‘cotton castle’. Here, natural hot springs rich in calcium overflow from the edge of the cliffs, and the ground glows white, hence the name "cotton". Although you cannot bathe in these travertines, you can walk among them and these pools are said to have many healing properties. Visit the nearby ancient city, explore Hierapolis and cool off in the ponds once home to Cleopatra. Check out other ruins in the city too. Hierapolis is known for its numerous temples and religious buildings, extensive necropolises, amphitheaters and bizarre tombs.
“Take the bus south, avoid the trail, to Kayakoy village.. This small town serves as a base from which to explore the Mediterranean coast, including the resort of Fethiye and the famous Blue Lagoon. Once a thriving place, Kayakoy is now considered a ghost village, with its old stone houses abandoned after the Greek population left Turkey during a massive population exchange in the 1920s. It is of particular interest because there is an interesting room in the , where the bones of the dead were collected. You can also pay to explore the ruins, enjoy the solitude, relax with backgammon or drink tea with the locals.
“Today we will go on a half-day hike along the rugged coastline, following part of the ancient Lycian Way to nearby Oludeniz (about 6 km), where we can swim in the Blue Lagoon. We will walk along steep rocky hillside paths, through forests and up hills with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. “From Kayakoy take a Turkish taxi, Dolmus, to Fethiye. From there take a public bus to Kas, with stunning coastal views along the way. The picturesque village of Kas, white buildings clad in bougainvillea, and stadiums bifurcated in the Blake flail and southern towns. As the sun sets, you have the chance to stroll through the handicraft markets, where you can find beautiful handicrafts with a unique Turkish flair. In the evening, take a short drive to Kekova to board a Gulet (traditional Turkish boat) and spend the night on the Turkish coast.

On the hillside are the sheltered ruins of the palace of the Seljuk Sultans of Rum, while below the Alaettin Mosque are stone age artefacts. Tonight, perhaps enjoy a refreshing cup of tea or sample some Central Anatolian cuisine.
"Leave Konya this morning by bus and head to the Cappadocia town of Urgup - with a bustling and modern town center, many small hotels built in surrounding caves, this is the perfect location for us to begin our exploration of Cappadocia tomorrow.
