Itinerary
Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport and drive to Mtskvari Valley. Metekhi Church is located in Tbilisi. The hotel is located in the old historic center of Metekhi, on the left bank of the Mtskvari river in the old town. Metekhi Nativity Church is he one of the oldest churches built in Tbilisi. Researchers have confirmed that the temple was built in the 6th century AD. King Vakhtang I Golgasari built churches, castles and palaces here and used them as his residence. Sulfur Baths – Kureri Abano is located on the eastern bank of the Mutskvari River, at the foot of Narikala Fortress, opposite Metekisbani. Metekisvani is an important historical part of the city, and legend has it that the Iberian king Vakhtang and his Gorgasaris dropped a falcon here, leading to the discovery of hot springs and the subsequent establishment of a new capital. Our fantastic tour continues north towards the North Caucasus along the famous Georgian Military Road. Our first stop is the Ananuri complex, the former residence of the Duke of Argveti. The complex contains 16th-17th century churches, towers, and reservoirs. Further on we will visit the confluence of two small rivers between the mountains. In Sanauri village you can have lunch and taste and feel authentic Georgian cuisine (not included in the price).Continue your wonderful tour to visit the Gudauri Friendship Monument also known as Gudauri Panorama.It is located 120 km from Tbilisi on the Georgian Military Road leading to Russia.This monument is very vibrant and colorful but most of its beauty lies in its location. The Georgian-Russian Friendship Monument is suspended from a 600-meter-high cliff and offers stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains from its circular balconies. Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) is the last stop of the tour and the main attractions are Kazbegi and the impressive Mount Kazbegi where the Gergeti Trinity Church was built at an altitude of 2170m. From Kazbegi, travel by 4x4 through beautiful valleys and forests to Gergeti Trinity Church. If the weather permits, you can admire one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus, Mount Kazbegi with an altitude of 5,047 meters. Enjoy breathtaking views, take pictures, breathe fresh air and collect a lot of emotions. Return to Tbilisi by car.
